UNFORGETTABLE DAYS IN MALGUDI

You may be wondering there’s no such place called Malgudi. But this is an imaginary place create by our own Mysorean legend R.K Narayan, I wonder how many Indians know him leave alone remembering him. Though I have not read any of his books I have seen two of his master pieces in the form of a movie and a tv serial. The movie is “The Guide” which made Dev Anand an instant HIT!, and the tv serial is “MALGUDI DAYS”

This serial used to be telecasted every week in the public broadcaster ‘Doordashan’, I was very young to understand it then, more over I didn’t know hindi too. Nevertheless I knew it was a good program, and for years I had completely forgotten the show. Few years back when I was in my high school there was add which said that the Malgudi Days will be re-telecasted in Sony entertainment channel, it didn’t really excite me at all.

But a few weeks later I was adherent fan of this amazing tv show. I felt the characters such as Sheshadri(played superbly by Anath Nag) , Swami(played equally well by master Manjunath) , Rajam and his friends are very close to my heart. The music played with flute while showing credits was amazing. I still remember one Sunday there was a power cut in our place so I went to my friends house which was at quite a distance from our place to watch Malgudi Days and to my utter disapiontment there was no power there too. I really have no words to describe this show its been my favorite show so far and it will remain so forever. The thing I like most about it is they created an imaginary town called Malgudi with Malgudi police station, Malgudi post office and even a newspaper called Malgudi times!!! Some of the episodes wherein Sheshadri gets a road roller as a price!! Or an earthquake in Malgudi are just unforgettable.

Hats off to the director Shankar nag, who isn’t with us anymore for pioneering one of the cornerstones in Indian television history. Now when I think about it I feel proud to have watched it and I feel even more ecstatic that it has been written, directed and acted by Kannadigas. Hope I would get another chance of reliving Malgudi,... Days which I spent in Malgudi are, as I said “Unforgettable”.

Places I Want To Visit Before I Die

EGYPT

Its been my childhood fasination to visit the land of pharoah's and mummy's . As against many of my friends I used to just love my history clases. The first time when i heard about this
magnificent man made structures I was like "wow", and visitng the life of africa 'THE NILE RIVER'  would be icing on the cake. Another important thing is the most beautiful women to live in this world 'CLEOPATRA' comes from this place part of the world. Hope I would find someone like her there and shout her name on the top of the tallest pyramid!!!!!!!

Louvre Museum

I first heard about this place in the book 'Da Vinci Code', then googled it and found more information about this beautiful place. No I have no intensions to explore the holy grail or anything related to it. I just want to enjoy some of masterpieces by the masters themselves like Davinci, michelangelo and many more. Its just a coinsidence that it happens to resemble the pyramids. More importantly I like the city Paris, am just bowled over by the cities culture and heritage.

Westminster Abbey

Its a gothic chruch in london, and one of the oldest in Britain. Its an UNESCO world heritage site. It is where the monarch were crowned, all the victoria's and elizebeth's were crowned here and its the place where many of them were buried. In those days it was an honour to be buried in here, sir Isac Newton, William Shakespeare, William Wordsworth are few of the many legends who have been buried here. Although it has been mentionrd in the 'DaVinci Code' I knew about this place much before I read it.

OLD TRAFFORD

"The theatre of DREAMS". It may not be on the top of my wish list, but am quiet sure this is the first place i would visit. Its a football stadium(more than just a stadium for red devil!!)  where in the greatest team MANCHESTER UNITED play thier home matches. Its the heart of britain. Its pretty hard to get a ticket to an epl game in England, but i would go to any extent to get one. I have no specific match in mind  but i would surely like to watch manutd vs liverpool, as always liverpool will be reduced to ashes!

Mount EVEREST

This destination may sound bit impractical. But anyway I have a dream about being 9000 metres above the sea level. Who doesnt want to be on the top of the world, here its queit literally. Sometimes its nice to have dream which may not be fullfilled, I havnt given it up yet. I will not pursue this dream, if it happens it happens thats it.

Iam an enginnering student. Mechanical to be more specific. Well nothing comes to my mind when i think of writting about myself. Iam myself and like to remain so. Iam a guy who like to enjoy each and every moment in this beautiful journey called LIFE. Iam a outdoor guy and like sports, travelling, trecking, riding and everything that I do. I play BASKET BALL.
I like to be with friends bcz, they are the stars that lits up the dark sky. They are present all day through, but v feel their presence only in darkness. It may sound too fictius, but its really true. LIFE without friends is like a garden without flowers.
Iam a practical person and positive ATTITUDE is my strength. Iam a never say die kind of person. I dont believe in fortune but in myself. I look life as a sport, win and lose- a part and parcel of it. To me life is as simple as...........the simplest thing in the world.
